Simile is a project to develop open source tools based on semantic web technologies. The timeline software used in this web site allows the user to scroll infinitely through time-based data. You can click and drag in the timeline window to scroll. Because the software is implemented as JavaScript code and runs in your web browser, it helps to scroll gently. You may want to experiment with using the left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to manipulate the timeline.
